NOVEMBER 2024 Meeting Minutes
Clandestine Brewing

      • I recapped the HeadQuarters pouring station at the Gilroy Downtown Beer Festival.
The Barber Academy was a welcoming and generous host for us to set up our pouring station.
Guests enjoyed the 6 beers we served.
All in all a good time.

        • We decided it was time to set some club homebrew challenges for 2025.
        • So set the following club challenge schedule.

          – March 2025 – Mosaic
Any beer style, the judging criteria is to select the best one.

          – June 2025 – Mead
Check out the BJCP Introduction to Mead Guidelines to learn more about mead.
And you can learn about the various types of meads from the BJCP MEAD STYLE GUIDELINES.
I will discuss making and judging meads, probably in February.

          – August 2025 Kveik, not Voss
Brew something with one of the available Kveik yeast strains- but not Kveik Voss (too pedestrian).

          – November 2025 – Holiday Beer
Think spiced, barrel aged, winter warmer, the sky’s the limit.
Check out the BJCP 30C. Winter Seasonal Beer guideline for more ideas.

        • There will be no December club meeting.
Over the years we’ve found scheduling a December meeting challenging, working around everybody’s holiday plans.

        • The next meeting will the holiday party in January which Eric will host again in his south San Jose home.
          Watch for emails with details.
